Farewell March

I typically hate March.  I don't know why, but it always seems drab compared to the other months.  Maybe it's the rain, or if you live in a cold place, the snow that just won't melt.  It might be the fact all of the holidays seem over, Christmas, New Years, my birthday (very much a holiday ;P).  At the beginning of the month I decided I wanted to make a change.  March doesn't have to be boring.  Life is what you make it, and I was going to make it wonderful.

Honestly, this has been the best March I can remember.  It went by very quickly, which seems to be a reoccurring theme lately.  The weather was warm most of the month and  all our trees budded and bloomed.  I still have some amazing pictures, like the one below. I will definitely go into next March with more enthusiasm.

Books

I have been a good little bookworm this month.  I read seven whole books!  I'm going to try to read fifty books this year.  Definitely an attainable goal.  But before I give any input on these books I want to warn you of this; I am a strange critic.  I would rather read something beautifully written than a book with a killer plot.  I'm hopefully going do a longer review on some of these in an upcoming post.

  • The Phantom Tollbooth 7/10
  • Tuesdays at the Castle 5/10
  • The Penderwicks 10/10 - seriously one of my new favorites.
  • When You Reach Me 8/10 - whoa, just-whoa.  I think my head exploded.
  • Keeper of the Lost Cities 7/10
  • The Westing Game 8/10
  • The Witch of Blackbird Pond 7/1
Music

Here are my top five favorite songs right now.

  1. Vida La Vida - Coldplay.  Dude.  This song is the best.  I heard it for the first time about a year ago, but when I heard it recently my heart melted.  I don't even know why, this song is just so good!
  2. Play That Song - Train
  3. YOUTH - Troye Sivan
  4. Best Day Of My Life - American Authors.  This one brings back happy memories.
  5. Count On Me - Bruno Mars
I'm aware these songs aren't really new, I adore them though, so who cares?

Theatre

Peter Pan and Wendy.  I want to cry.  It's going so well.  All of the little lost boys give me tons of hugs and I'm starting to feel like their Mother (that sounds weird, sorry).  Our Monday rehearsal was fantastic.  We rehearsed a couple scenes, then worked on character stuff.  We played a few games in character, which was a blast, and worked on our accents and stage etiquette.  I'm not actually going to do any sword fighting in the play, but I got to learn how during one of the rehearsals.  It was so fun.  WE ARE GETTING OUR COSTUMES SOON!!!  I cannot withhold my excitement.  Plus the photo-shoot is near the end of April.  I'll be sure to post some of the photos.

Our Posts

Look at our beautiful new theme!  Ahh, it's just gorgeous.  But why, oh why can't I figure out technical things?  Such as seeing how many email followers we have, or making a blog button. Help me, tech-y people!  Do you know the secrets?

Although Lolly has been a bad blogger because she's busy (yay for alliteration), I've done quite a few posts.

Are you a 'craft beast'?  If so you should totally check out  my craft space.

Rehearsals can be crazy, here are my rehearsal must-haves.

The Simple is a post I did about focusing our attention on the small, simple parts of life.

I'd love it if you'd check a few of them out.  Do you have any suggestions or requests for posts?  If so, don't be afraid to comment below and tell me.  I love receiving comments from you.

Lastly, please pardon the choppiness of this post.  I wrote the whole thing out and it was absolutely perfect, but then I went to add a picture and somehow deleted almost the whole thing.  So frustrating.  Oh well, I'm learning patience, right?

Love,
Pip

Do you like March?
Any ideas for future posts?

Your blog design is so pretty! I really like it. :D
I really like March, because for me it always means that our Redbud trees are blooming and all of the oak trees get their leaves. It's always so pretty to watch!

  3. I read The Phantom Tollbooth with my class in fifth grade, and YES KOTLC and The Westing Game!!! <3 Your new theme looks awesome! Hmm, I don't know how to view email followers on Blogger, but to make a blog button, you just use a graphic designing website and include the basic things: your blog name, and a picture/graphic/background. :)
