Tortillas

Image
I was in the mood to make something yummy.  Since it's summer, we don't like to run the oven if we don't have to, so that ruled out baking anything.  It also helped to eliminate the option of brownies or cookies, which is probably for the best.  Since we eat tortillas with almost every meal (our mom cooks a lot of New Mexican food) I decided I'd try my hand at tortillas!  I've never made tortillas before so I found this recipe on Pinterest!  http://childhood101.com/2015/02/homemade-tortillas-recipe/ Before you begin, I must warn you: the pan that I cooked them in turned quite black and burnt!  I tried everything to scrape it all off, but it's persistent!  I think that there was too much flour on the counter when I rolled out the tortillas and then it got burnt into the pan.  Next time I will try using a cast iron skillet instead. The tortillas are delicious!  They are perfect for tacos, work fairly well for bean burritos, and they are great warm with b

Emma!

Recently, my other "little sister" Emma visited from New Mexico!  We had a fabulous time these past two weeks as we occupied ourselves with lots of summery activities.  We went to see "The Secret Life of Pets" at the drive-in movie! It is a cute simple family movie that I would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to go see a movie with their younger siblings.  Please bear in mind, however, that it was rather intense for Willa so she sat in my lap for almost the whole movie and covered her eyes frequently. Located in Green Bay is a cute quaint little amusement park. Every time I go I feel like I'm stepping back into the 1950s!  Willa is just exactly 48" tall, so she was able to ride all the "big rides" with us! She had a blast!  I was kind of worried that she would cry on the roller coaster, but as soon as we got done, she said, "That was amazing!"  She also lost her tooth!  I think that missing front teeth is

Ahhh… How I Love The Theatre!

As some of you may know I was recently cast in a musical.  It was called Back To The Cross.  We rehearsed for one week and then performed on Saturday and Sunday.  It was SO much fun!  My character's name was Ava.  There were tons of photos taken of us but I can only show a few.  Here you go! I wore my hair in a ponytail so that it wouldn't get in the way when I was dancing.  And I also got to do a really fun ponytail flip in one scene! We "traveled" through time a lot. I had a different costume piece for almost every time period.  Well there you go!  If you want to see some more photos just click on the link below!  http://sunlightstudiosllc.pixieset.com/backtothecross2016/showtime/ Love,  Pip
