Christmas Creations

Image
Hello, and my apologies.  Yet again I have failed to post regularly!  Oh well, Chritsmas is the time of new beginnings, right? As we have been getting ready for the holidays I set aside some time to craft.   My first creation is an ornament I saw at Hobby Lobby.  I loved it so much, but didn't feel like spending the money on it. So, I decided to take a picture and try making it.  I'm very happy I did because it turned out quite well.  Isn't it cute?  I just love the bow tie.   Willa and I have also made a small assortment of paper snowflakes.  Because we haven't had any real snow here they help to console us.  Below is my step by  step tutorial for them: Start with a pencil, price of paper and some scissors.   Fold it so it so that it is a triangle with an extra bit on one end. Cut along the edge so that you have just one large triangle. Fold it in half to make another tri...

Selfies!

Image
Hello! As some of you may know we are on a trip to Wisconsin.  We are staying with Willow's family.  Two days ago we went a custard place (it's very yummy).  Our Mom's took a photo of us three.  Then I whipped out my phone and took a selfie with our custard.  What started as one soon became a lot.   In the photo above Willow had said we should all open our eyes really wide.  When I looked at the photo we started laughing so hard.  I think I sort of failed. It worked here except I didn't get the open mouth memo. Ahh.  I finally got it! Come on Willow!  Is Willow really that yummy? I can not keep a straight face.  Don't even ask me to lie.  It just doesn't  work. Scary friends. No comment. I mustache you a question. Well there you go!  Can you see why I called this post selfies...

Little Bits of Life

Hello Everyone! I'm really sorry niether of us have done any posts as of late.  Lolly has good excuses like college and she is working two jobs in addition to being the lead female role in a play we are in. But me on the hand...  I'm not really that busy. I've started writing a story with my friend Willow .  First I write a chapter for my character then she writes one for her's.  It is super fun and I can't wait until it's done!  It's funny because I sort of have to get in the mood for writing.  I can't just pop in at any place and be good.  It's probably harder because my character is a guy.  I've found ways to "get into character" kind of like with acting.  It helps me if I listen to Twenty One Pilots.  I enjoy their music and I feel like my character relates to them somehow.  Man, it's getting boring having to say 'my character' over and over!  I'll at least tell you his name - Peter.  It means ...

New Mexico!!!

Image
Well hello Everyone!  I am finally back!  Yes, I know.  It has been forever since I posted.  And I know I promised to do a review on my pickles, but they were eaten, and we moved!  They were really good though ;)  Now we are back in New Mexico, The Land Of Enchantment.  I have been extremely busy with moving in and all so today I will just post pictures and tell you what is happening in them.  I took this photo in Iowa.  Isn't this quaint old gas station just adorable? Some nice people took this picture for us at the border of Texas and New Mexico.  A few days after we got back, there was a Ladies Tea at our church.  This is one of our gorgeous friends Seriah.  I took this picture of her because I just loved her outfit.  Lolly and I went out to watch a Cinderella play with Seriah.  Afterward we went to a cool coffee shop downtown.   There you go! ...

Back to School!

Today is the first day of my sophomore year of college!  I'm super stoked to start this year and learn so much!  It's really important to stay organized throughout the school year in order to get good grades on homework assignments and still be able to hang out with friends sometimes.  I have this adorable calendar that helps me stay organized.  I really love calendars, especially this one.  Every month has a different quote at the beginning.  I'm sure that my sophomore year will be great!  I hope that you all are enjoying school as well! Love, Lolly

Savoring Summer

Image
I am enjoying New Mexico so much!  I can't get enough of the big blue skies, the beautiful mountains, and the breathtaking sunsets.  Mostly though, it has been so nice to see all of the friends that I have missed over the summer!  Summer isn't quite over, it is definitely still hot outside and school doesn't start for me until next Monday!  I have been trying to hold on to summer as long as I can.  My days have been filled with hikes, evening swims, and fun times with friends.  I know that I will soon be extremely busy with homework so I'm cherishing these last days of summer.  I can't wait to see my family when they move down in about a month! Love, Lolly

Pip's Pickle Post

Image
Our garden has been producing more cucumbers than we know what to do with so I decided to try and pickle them.  I have never made pickles before and I expected them to be really hard, but I found this amazingly easy recipe!  Here is the link: http://www.primallyinspired.com/ridiculously-easy-homemade-dill-pickles/ Here are some pictures. First I cut the cucumbers.  Then put them in a jar and added salt water.  All of my spices.  I used Oak leaves to make the pickles crunchier.  The blog said I could used raspberry or grape leaves instead.  I put an onion on top to give it flavor.  Aaand...  Ta-da!  Here are my lovely pickles!  I will do a post about how they taste in a few days.   Love,  Pip

Costume Party

Image
Hello Everyone! Last Saturday Willa and I were invited to a costume party.  We were asked to dress like an American girl doll.   It was really fun to see everyone's costumes. Willa had just got her hair cut in a bob and so she mached her doll perfectly!   Love, Pip

Together Forever

So you know how Lolly is living in New Mexico and Pip is living in Wisconsin?  Well guess what?  Pip is getting to move to New Mexico as well!  When she first found out she jumped up and down screaming.  We are so thrilled that we will be able to spend so much time together again!  This summer has been beautiful, but we've been dreading the separation in the fall.  Now it's completely different though because we will all be together!  In preparation for the move across the country, we have been busy purging through our things.  Simplicity is key!  We want to really think about whether we love something enough to want to go the trouble of moving something all the way across the country.  Love, Pip and Lolly
