I am Stronger + Loving Life

Image
Hello, hello! I must tell the truth , I have no idea where I’m going with this post.   I had one written and almost ready to publish in a Word document on my Mom’s computer.   Then our Mom went out of town, taking her laptop with her.   So here I am, with no idea what to say.   I guess life is always like that.   You can plan, prepare, and schedule, but in the end, you don’t know what will happen.   Even bad things don’t always end up happening.   I need to learn I have no control.   Sometimes that’s really scary, but isn’t that what our faith is about?   Trusting God to keep us steady when nothing else will? Over the last few years, my faith has been tested in countless ways.   But God always gave me strength to pull through .   I can remember crying and crying, I remember the pain and it brings tears to my eyes, but look at me!   I am happy, healthy, and loved .   No matter what, God was always l...

June Wrap-Up

Image
Happy July! I feel like June was 3 months piled into one.  I don’t even know how it went by so fast and so slow.  It was filled with good memories and, let’s be honest, maybe a few tears.  It’s okay though, they made it all the sweeter.     Theatre If anything describes endings and beginnings, June did just that.  Peter Pan and Wendy ended.  Everything must end eventually, I guess.  Still, the post show depression doesn’t want to go away.  Then, Spotlight started!  Rehearsals are hard, and I’m talking really hard, work.  I was so sore I woke up in the middle of the night from pain.  I’ll let you in on a little secret though, I’m going to have fabulous calf muscles by the end of this show.  ;) Food Lolly is one brave little gal.  She is doing the Gaps Diet.  She’s had mono for a while, and now just isn’t feeling that great overall.  This diet is supposed to help heal your ...

Late Again!

Image
Hello friends! This past weekend was my first weekend of summer break!  It might have gotten to my head a bit too much because I was late for everything all day long.  I went to bed late, which resulted in me waking up late for our rehearsal across town.  As soon as we got in the car I discovered I was out of gas!  We were already leaving the house late because I woke up late and so getting gas made us about twenty minutes late to rehearsal.  I also just read this about respecting the theatre so I felt really bad.  After rehearsal Pip and I went to Einstein's Bagels for a quick lunch.  We got a cheesy bagel and a blueberry bagel and split them so that we could each have half a sweet and half a savory bagel.  Then we went to Target for some super last-minute Mother's Day shopping. Once we got home, we were both so pooped that we kind of just sat around for a bit when we should have been getting ready for a wedding we were...

Life Updates

Image
Hello Dears, First of all, I'd like to apologize for not giving you one of my lovely, wonderful posts on Friday. :P  We had a full week and I simply didn't have the time.  I'm back in full swing now. Secondly, I'm kind of winging this post today because I don't really know what I'm writing about yet. April is so close to being at an end.  Only 5 more days.  I'm sorry to all of you doing NaNo, I'm sure you didn't need a reminder of how little time you have left.  I'm freaking out because our first Peter Pan & Wendy performance is only 31 days away!  I don't want it to end! Guys, flatlay photography is so fun!  I've done a few photos, but my favorite is the one above.  It's so pink! I also discovered an app called Font Candy.  It's super fun, and I have only seen one advertisement so far. We are doing a geography fair with our home school group at the end of the month, and we haven't even started working on ...

Farewell March

Image
I typically hate March .  I don't know why, but it always seems drab compared to the other months.  Maybe it's the rain, or if you live in a cold place, the snow that just won't melt.  It might be the fact all of the holidays seem over, Christmas, New Years, my birthday (very much a holiday ;P).  At the beginning of the month I decided I wanted to make a change.  March doesn't have to be boring.  Life is what you make it, and I was going to make it wonderful. Honestly,  this has been the best March I can remember.  It went by very quickly, which seems to be a reoccurring theme lately.  The weather was warm most of the month and  all our trees budded and bloomed.  I still have some amazing pictures, like the one below. I will definitely go into next March with more enthusiasm. Books I have been a good little bookworm this month.  I read seven whole books!  I'm going to try to read fifty books this year. ...

The Simple

Image
Sometimes I get so caught up in everything.  The good, the bad the in-between-just all of it.  I have fun, loads of it.  But then when things settle down to normal, life seems bleh.  I become discontent.  I start looking on Pinterest more, which leads to subconsciously comparing my life to the picture perfect photographs.  Then, wow, just look at that sunset!  And the smell of the dirt, the taste of that popsicle, the air conditioner blowing on your face, clean water, sunshine, a good book, a new recipe, music.  There is so much to be thankful for.  I'm serious.   Just look around! In today's culture we are so busy doing, doing, doing.  We think we have to be busy to be happy.  Not true.  Happiness is a choice.  You can choose to be discontent, or you can look at the small person sitting next to you and think wow, I'm so glad she's my sister.  Life is really awesome guys.  Enjoy it!  The only thing ...

A Tour of my Bullet Journal

Image
Life can be crazy.   Sometimes you see it coming, and other times it just sucks you in like a ocean current.  Whatever the case is, it is hard to stay on top of things. When I saw a bullet journal for the first time a few months ago, I fell in love with the idea.  It was all so pretty, perfect and precise.  I wanted to start one, but then I thought of the time a tried using a planner...  It didn't turn out well.  The problem was, I forgot about it within a week.  After recalling the experience I decided that it wasn't quite right for me.  After all, I'm not a very organized orderly person all the time like Lolly (she isn't actually all that organized anymore-she's too busy). Last month my friend gave me an adorable notebook for my birthday.  I loved it right away.  But I wasn't sure what to do with it.  I already had a journal that I kept and a notebook that I wrote general lists observations, etc.  But then I though, ...

A Rather Late February Post

Image
This is my wallpaper right now and it literally makes me smile every time I see it.   Oh my goodness, February flew by, didn't it?   A lot of awesome things happened, such as, turning fourteen, the first rehearsals for Peter Pan & Wendy plus lots of other fun events, but still, it seemed so short! This post was inspired by Grace Ann's at Totally Graced  and Katie Grace's at A Writer's Faith .  Both of them did the coolest February wrap up posts. .   You should totally check out their blogs. Books I seriously haven't read a single book this month.  I'm terribly ashamed of myself. I've started reading The Phantom Tollbooth, it's really interesting and makes you see things in a different way.  I'm not really quite sure what i think about it yet. I need to go to the library!!!  I have the longest 'to read' list and I'm also trying to make a list of every book I've ever read.  So ...

Always Love

Image
Valentine's Day has come and gone, and with it, all of the roses, kisses, and chocolate.  Those things are gone, forgotten, until next year when it all happens again.  That's the problem.  We step out of our way to make others feel loved  one day a year.  Why not every day?  That's what we should be doing, especially as Christians.  We need to give some, even if it's just a little, of the love God pours on us, to someone else.   On Valentine's Day a super sweet lady from our church dropped by to give us each a little bouquet of flowers, some chocolate truffles and loving notes.  It made us feel so cared for and thought of.  Then, in the evening we went to a friend's house for dinner.  Again, they made the night really special for us. The point is, there are so many opportunities to make others feel loved, not just on Valentine's Day.  And even though it might seem too simple to mean ...

Auditions, Star Wars & Apologies

Image
Hello! I suppose I should apologize.  I haven't been posting, which was one of my New Years goals.   In the meantime watch this really funny Studio C about resolutions.  Oh well, at least I completed one of my other goals!  Lolly and I auditioned for Peter Pan! I thought my audition went really poorly because I messed up on my monologue.  I had to improvise a little bit to get back on track, but the cold read went well.  I think the worst part of auditions is right before and after, when you have to wait to see what part you got.  Fortunately I only had to wait a day.  We were at a friends house watching Star Wars.  There were a few people (including Lolly and I) who have never seen any of the movies until Sunday night, so we started at the beginning and each week we will watch two more.  To be quite honest, I didn't understand most of what was happening, and the story line seemed somewhat strange.  I'm sure the...

New Years Goals & Other Such Snippets

Image
Hello! Are you excited!  It's finally 2017!  I say that as if the year drug on and on, but really, it fairly flew! Do you have any goals, dreams or resolutions?  I have a few I'd like to share, so let's get started.  1. Get the splits I've made this goal the last four years and never succeeded.  But it's a new year, right?  And I can still do it no matter how many times I fail. 2. Spend less time on screens and more time outside This is a big one for me because I think it's really important.  Being in the sunshine makes me feel so much happier.  And even if there is no sun just the fresh air is great.  I know it's winter and it's cold, but  I can still spend a little time outside, right?  Plus look at the photo below.   Go out and go for a walk right now.  Your brain will feel alive! 3. Practice photography It would be super cool to take awesome photos.  I know I can't get good all at once...

Little Bits of Life

Image
Hello Everyone! I'm really sorry niether of us have done any posts as of late.  Lolly has good excuses like college and she is working two jobs in addition to being the lead female role in a play we are in. But me on the hand...  I'm not really that busy. I've started writing a story with my friend Willow .  First I write a chapter for my character then she writes one for her's.  It is super fun and I can't wait until it's done!  It's funny because I sort of have to get in the mood for writing.  I can't just pop in at any place and be good.  It's probably harder because my character is a guy.  I've found ways to "get into character" kind of like with acting.  It helps me if I listen to Twenty One Pilots.  I enjoy their music and I feel like my character relates to them somehow.  Man, it's getting boring having to say 'my character' over and over!  I'll at least tell you his name - Peter.  It means ...
